From the Chairman's Desk....,

It's a matter of great pride and privilege for me to be elected as the 47th Chairman of Coimbatore Branch of SIRC of ICAI. With paramount sense of accountability and gratitude I accept the mandate bestowed upon me by the Managing Committee of the Coimbatore Branch.

It is an opportunity granted to me to continue working for the betterment of the profession and the CA members of Coimbatore Branch. In this pursuit to work for the betterment of the profession, I will be aptly supported by new Office Bearers of Coimbatore Branch, Vice Chairman CA P. Balasubramani, Secretary K. S. Shanmugam, Treasurer CA. S. Prabhu & SICASA Chairman CA. N.V. Palanisamy. My heartiest congratulations to them for being elected to the Office for the term 2018-2019. I extend my congratulations to Immediate Past Chairman CA. B. Saravanan, who has not only completed his term successfully but have also brought laurels to Coimbatore Branch by winning the Best Branch Award of SIRC.

With the break of the PNB Scam, the onerous responsibility of Chartered Accountants in Bank Audit has increased manifold. March being the season for Bank Audits, we are expected to be ultra-vigilant during the bank audits. To equip the members with the latest tools and audit practices in the field of bank audits, we plan to organize Two Days seminar on bank audit with eminent faculties.

With introduction of various laws such as GST, IBC, Companies Amendment Act, Ind AS etc., our profession is going through a massive wave of change of where we must unlearn and re-learn to become competitive in the professional environment. As it is rightly said “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change”.

This year we would like to focus on “Innovate & Inspire to Excel”. As Creativity is thinking up new things, we believe in Innovation which means doing new things. Our tagline is based on the thought process that ‘Innovation’ is very much instrumental for betterment of our profession. With concerns being raised on the quality of audits being CA’s, it is important for us to come out with innovative ideas and think one step ahead of the fraudulent minds.

To wrap up, I am grateful to you all for sparing your valuable time to shower your wishes and blessings to the new Managing Committee in the function held at our Thudiyalur branch premises. I hope you all would continue to support us in the same way and help us in taking the Coimbatore branch to new heights.

“Changes call for innovation, and innovation leads to progress”.

With Regards
CA. S. Rajesh
